~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

Christmas Morning

I LOVE Christmas morning!!!
The anticipation is overwhelming!! I can't
wait for the girls to wake up and come downstairs to see
all that Santa left and the gifts that were bought with love
and care for each one. I love being able to reflect on the
greatest gift, the gift of our Saviors love.

Lots of hours of cutting, sewing and snipping were
put into the two rag quilts I made for the girls.
Every year I try to make them something they can
have forever that will mean more to them the older they get.
This year not only did I make them the quilts but pj pants for them
and their favorite dolls and an aprons for them and their favorite dolls.
From this reaction of hugging the quilts makes it so worthwhile!

Chritmas Eve

Christmas Eve pajamas was a tradition the
Page's have done for as long as I have been in
the family. I thought it was so fun to watch
all the kids open their new cozy pajamas so when
our kids came along we carried it on.
Now they are cozy and ready to fall asleep
with thoughts of sugar plums dancing in their heads.

Christmas Dresses

Christmas Dresses
2006
2007
2008
Our Christmas beauties.
I don't know about you but we have had the tradition
of getting new {fancy} Christmas dress every year for Christmas.
Months ahead we search the Internet in hopes of THE dress.
If that doesn't produce THE dress then we hit every store
we can find until we find THE dress. The girls and I really enjoy this
time together. As they get older their taste change. It's fun watching them
get excited when they try on THE dress they have been thinking of.
Then we {patiently} wait for the Sunday before Christmas
{unless Christmas in on Sunday then they wear it that day}
to wear it for all to see. They look like the princesses I know they are.

First Band Concert

Raychel has really enjoyed playing the flute this
year in middle school. The students had to take a playing
test to see how well they were doing to determine what
"chair" position they would have in the class. She practice
hard nightly and was so nervous the day of the test, she wanted
first chair but would be okay with second chair. She came
home so excited, she had earned the second chair in her band class.
December 17th was her first band concert.
She looked so beautiful,
she had butterflies in her tummy and was so excited to
be in her first band concert. Her class did great.
She couldn't stop smiling!!

Winter Wonderland

What an amazing sight to see..... SNOW. We had a snow
day (no school) and the girls couldn't get enough of it!!
They played outside for hours,
making snowmen,
forts,
and just laying around in it!!!

Building a snowman together

Team work!!!

The girls were so proud of the finished snowman, they had so much fun working on him most of the day together.

Sunday beauties

Do you ever stop and really look
at your children and think,
"They are mine!"
I count my blessings everyday
that I have been entrusted to be
their mother!

Friends

Can I just say I love the friends my girls have made!!
This year they both have made so many new friends, rekindled
old friendships and straightened new ones. It use to worry me when they
would say they had one "best" friend, what would happen if that friend
was gone for the day or if they had a problem? Who would be their friend then?
But this year they talk about several different friends as their "best" friend.
We have had many of them over for Friday night movie/pizza night, and our girls
have gone to other homes for sleep overs or "late overs" as well. It is nice to
have so many of their friends in our home and to become friends with their
parents as well. It makes it easier to let our girls stay at their homes.
You can never have to many friends!!!

Good morning

A very serious belly laugh!!

They traded instruments,
neither one could play the others.
Which made them both laugh at each other!

The Nutcracker

I have always loved the Ballet. I would have loved
to have been a ballerina, except I never took ballet.
I have seen the Ballet The Nutcracker many times.
I have loved it every time,
it is so graceful,
elegant,
beautiful
romantic.
Last year we took the girls to see the Aspen Ballet
perform The Nutcracker, and it was wonderful!!
This year I heard the Russian Ballet was coming near us to perform
The Nutcracker and I knew I HAD to see it!!
I know it was only a traveling group that performed in
only a few locations, but it was still the Russian Ballet.
The costumes were amazing,
the dancing was flawless,
the music was perfect,
the theater was incredible!!
I have one of the most amazing husbands who not only comes with us but enjoys it as well.
I can only hope our girls find a man like their father to marry who will encourage them, believe in them, love them and support them.

First we went out to dinner....
Then we waited to enter the theater in
the freezing weather,
then we waited for the ballet to start....
still waiting....
So worth the wait!!!
