More soccer

Watching Jolene play soccer from week to week is

like watching another child, she had really improved over

the last month. She isn't afraid of the kids as much as she use to be.

She didn't like getting the middle to get the ball, she was afraid she

would get kick or pushed, but this game I actually saw my

little Jolene get caught in the middle and push to get the ball!!

WAY TO GO!!!

Quilting

I really enjoy sewing, sitting and creating something

out of nothing. I remember my mother's patience while she

helped me learn to sew, when she comes to visit

she usually sits at my sewing machine and creates.

I admire her talent and hope over the years lots of practice I

can be like her.

A few years ago Raychel asked while I was sewing if she could learn.

That was when I knew it was time to pass on what my mother had taught me.

Off we went to pick out material and get busy.

Over the years she has made several different projects like

a pillow,

several skirts,

an apron,

and now a quilt.

She learned new many new skills when it came to this project

and can't wait for the next project.

What should she do next?

Soccer Game

It has been so much fun to watch Jolene grow during the

season. She has gotten more aggesive and really learned

to enjoy the sport. She said she wants to play in the fall.

5th Field Trip

All the 5th graders went on this amazing field trip

to Rock Bottom Ranch.

It was a beautiful cool day.

They were able to take samples from the pond and look

at what they found under a microscope, went on a hike and saw

some rare birds, ate lunch, played games and enjoyed the outdoors.

It was nice driving with her, visiting, laughing and getting to know her

one on one. She is such a sweet, smart, beautiful, funny young lady who

happens to be my oldest daughter!

I feel in love with this tree, it was

HUGE

The scenery was breath taking!

really beautiful.

School performances

It never fails, the end of the year brings lots of

end of the year performances. This year wasn't any different. The

only problems was the girls both had performances on the same night!!

So I went to Jolene's First Grade Music Performance during the day

so I could also attend Raychel's band performance and

her timeline presentation. What a crazy night! Lucky for me both

girls had to dress like Native Americans, so that part was easy.

The girls and I went to the middle school for Raychel's timeline

presentation on Sacajawea, then Ward got into town in time to pick

Jolene up and get her to her performance while I helped Raychel

change for her band performance that Ward got back to for the last hour.

It was one of those night you hope you don't

have to juggle to often, but it was a night of

wonderful performances!!

The first grade music performance theme was

"Folk Songs from Around the World." They were asked

for the evening performance to choose clothes that would go along

with their songs.

Band Performance

Beautiful

We had been out of town most of the day with off and

on rain. As we come through the mountains this was the view.

All I could think of was "beautiful". It's one of those

moments in your life where you stop and think of how

beautiful life really is.

Spring Snow

Even though I am tried of

winter and the cold,

I have to admit it was beautiful.

Patio Swing

If you remember awhile back I was willing to

give our other dog away for eating the swing

cover. Well, since then I have looked everywhere

to find a new one. This swing is longer them most so the

average covers wont fit. So the other

day Jolene and I were out and she wanted to look for

a new cover for the swing. We couldn't find one but we did fine

a cover for a lounge chair which is longer then our swing.

So, I got this great idea, cut it down and then sew the new edges closed.

It worked!!!

Growing up

As I walked past Jolene's room this

week I noticed something on her bed....

Max.

He had been left behind several days in a row.

It made me sad to think that my baby is growing up and

doesn't need Max to hide in her back pack any more.

But the very next day, he was gone.

Back in the back pack.

Day by day she is growing up.

Fire and Police Station Field Trip #2

Part two of our in the community field trip!

First the fire station~

The kids were so excited to see the inside of the fire

and police station. They were able to see

where the firemen"live" when they are at work,

they were able to be inside of a fire truck

and an ambulance

and they were able to watch the

fire truck spray water out to the hoses

and don't forget the fireman sliding down the pole!

Then off to the police station.

The classes were able to sit in a court room,

see the evidence lockers, and

be locked in the holding cell.

They were all so excited to learn about these

great community worker and learn how these

men and women are here to keep them safe.
