Animals for sale

Animals For Sale!!

Okay, maybe.. not really, but give me a good offer where I can pay my kids to not cry and you might have a deal!!

First, the CAT!!
Ever since we put up the Christmas Tree we can't keep Ella from climbing it!! The tree is artificial! She loves to climb to the top if we don't get her in time.
We have a 12 foot tree!!

Next, the DOG
I have always wanted a porch swing, well Ward's boss was getting rid of his, it was more then like new! Even as cold as it has been the girls loved going out and swinging, reading, laughing and talking, I had some high hopes for it when the weather turned warmer! Well, we woke up one morning and Cami had torn the cushions apart!! It looked like it had only snowed on the back porch!! I guess I will have to go buy a new cushions!

I (finally) did it!!

Banana Bread

YUM-O

Every since moving to Colorado I haven't been

able to make banana bread. Not for the lack of trying!!

I have used my recipe and a few others from friends

who said, "this will work!" Well, it didn't!!

I even had a friend who brought us a loaf she had made,

it was sooo good!! (Thanks Christine)

But I found it!!

The recipe that worked was in a

recipe book a friend gave me several years ago.

I am so proud of the bread, I am going to share

my "lucky" recipe with everyone!!

1/2 c. margarine

1c. sugar

2 eggs

1c. mashed bananas (3 whole bananas)

1/4c. milk

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 c. flour

1 1/2c. flour

1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1/4 teaspoons salt

Cream margarine, and sugar. Add eggs, and beat. Add bananas, milk, and lemon juice. Sift dry ingredients, and add. Add nuts if desired. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Makes 1 loaf.

Tree Decorating

The reason for the season

Our Dear Saviors Birth...

I love watching the girls decorate the tree

It is always a huge event!

Decorating the tree takes awhile as the
girls study each ornament and remember
it from the year before

They get so excited, even though the
decorations are as old as they are,

they usually give a helping hand and

decided together how the finished

tree should look

I love our tree topper, it a just a star

but "it is was the heavenly sign of

promise long ages ago, God promises a savior

for the world and the star was a sign of the

fulfillment of that promise.

The countless shining stars at

night....one for each man---

now show the burning hope of

all mankind." Unknown

And we can't forget the picture to

show off their great work.

Church Christmas Party

The church Christmas party was really nice.

Great food, great company, a few really nice

musical numbers and then the wait.....

It's always easier with friends as they waited.....

and waited.....

to sit on Santa's lap and tell him all

they wanted him to bring.

When we got home the girls both asked if they

were on the good list or the naughty list!!

We assured them the good list!!

Lost Tooth=More Money$$

Yep, Jolene lost her second tooth

on Saturday night just before the

church Christmas Party.

When we got home and ready for bed

She informed us she didn't believe in the

tooth fairy!! I was shocked! My almost 6 year old, who has only experienced the tooth fairy once, no longer

believed!! I explained how important it is

to believe in things we can't see. How it would hurt the

tooth fairies feeling to know a little girl didn't believe.

She said she wasn't sure!!

Well, that night the tooth fairy did come, and she did leave money, but she also left some fairy dust, yes, fairy dust. As we all know when we don't believe in a fairy they start to lose their light, (Return to Neverland),

and the tooth fairy happened to have lost some of her power in Jolene's room.

Jolene now believes in the tooth fairy!

Girl Party

The girls wanted to have a get together with

a few of their friends. How could I say no!!

They had a great time!!

The little girls played in

Jolene's room most of the time and the

bigger girls played....everywhere!!

Lost Tooth = Money$$

Say CHEESE!! Yep, Jolene lost her first tooth!

She wanted me to try and pull it out on Monday the 1st

but no luck, I told her to keep wiggling it and maybe

tomorrow! Well, Tuesday after school she comes running

out to let me know it was ready!! We got home, she grabbed

a tissue and said when she made a noise that

would mean to stop, OK!! Well, as I was getting ready

she let out the noise and the tooth was already out!!

She cried, I asked her if it hurt, she shook her head no,

I said are you crying because of the blood? Again no.

I asked then why are you crying??

Because my tongue went in the hole!!!

Jolene left a note for the tooth fairy to leave

the tooth, she left the tooth and of

course the money$$

A true sign our baby girl is growing up!!

After church last week we took some pictures of
the girls then decided to try out the timer on the

camera and take a family picture!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving got off to a rough start.
It actually started at 4:45 Am when

Jolene came in our room with

a tummy ache!! Yep, the flu!!

She was sick from 4:45am until 8:30am

After that she just laid around.

The rest of us enjoyed the "meal" before

the meal!! Yummy veggies and dip, chips and of

course our favorite Artichoke dip!!

The turkey looks great, and it
tasted sooooo good!!

Ever since Raychel was 18 months old and

Grandpa Joel handed her the drum stick, it has
become a tradition to have the girls
eat the drumsticks and they love it!!
Grandpa may not be with us, but
his tradition lives on!!

Even with a tummy ache

Jolene couldn't miss the yearly

picture with the drum stick!!
