~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

~Straight A's

Another quarter down, one more to go!  She got straight A's again!!  She has been on the Principal's honor roll for strength A's every quarter since she started middle school.  We are so proud of our girls, they both work hard in school and get good grades.

~Field Trip

What a really great day.  Friday, no school but the
4th graders had a field trip to the Aquarium in Denver.
Jolene loaded on the bus with all the rest of her friends, I got to
ride with Raychel and off we went for an adventure.
There was so much to see!  We have never been to
the aquarium so we were pretty excited.  We saw
all kinds of fish, an octopus, coral, pet the sting ray,
saw birds, and even a tiger.  Not to mention the drive
over was also very beautiful.  Raychel took lots of
pictures as we headed over the pass, we both couldn't
believe how much snow was still at the top of the pass.

~Sprained Ankle

I got a phone call from Jolene after she
got back in to school from recess that she
sprained her ankle.  She was not very happy,
she was trying to be so brave even though she was in
so much pain.  Once I got her home we propped
it up, got out the ice and stuck in a movie.
We had to make a bad memory a better
memory.  Now to keep this active one
down long enough to heal.

graders.  They have 10 books to read as a team since January,
they are paired against other teams to answer
questions about the books, {best out of 5}
the team who answers to most
questions correct wins.
Jolene's team came in 4th.  She
had so much fun being part of
the activity.

She makes me laugh out loud!

~Blue Skies

The sky was a busy place today.
It reminded me of my life right now.
With the end of the school year
right around the corner there is
so much going on and still going
to happen with concerts, field trips
sign ups, conferences, projects that if
I don't plan carefully I am going to run
into get confused and end up on the
wrong path.  I am excited for this
school year to come to a close,
I am excited to have our girls home
for Summer!

~Dressed Up

Today is a special day.  Both the girls looked
so pretty this morning.
Jolene has class pictures today so she dressed
up nice for that.  Raychel is headed out of
town for band competition this afternoon and had to
wear black and white.  She felt it was kind of boring so
she added the scarf for a pop of color.
Band competition went great they earned a 2!!

~PJ Day

The kids all love PJ day at school.  Jolene isn't
a fan of wearing her actual PJ's to school, so
she wore her favorite cozy clothes instead.

~Jump For Your Heart

The school had a jump rope-a-thon for the older kids.
She earned the most money out of everyone,
she was honored in front of the school, got a certificate,
and lots of prizes and a T-shirt.  She was so
excited and proud of what she
was able to do to help others.

~Grease

Tonight we went to the
Glenwood Spings High
School production of Grease.
It was a great show with our
Nephew Collin Page as Danny
and Emily Page as an extra.
They all did a great job.  After the play
we went with Sterling, Emily and Collin
to Dairy Queen for ice cream.

~Seven Brides For Seven Brothers

We went to the Hight School Drama
Presentation tonight of
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
They all did such a great job.  It wasn't
Broadway, but it was still a great play
with hard working students having fun.

~Poetry~

Raychel had to write poems for her literature class this quarter. She really enjoyed the assignments and even making the book for it more! She got pretty creative in her poems and even go Jolene into writing some as well. It is funny when the girls really love something they are learning at school they can't wait to come home tell everyone about it and help each other do it as well. The book turned out great. The worst part is going to be waiting for the grade!
She said I could share an example of one of her poems. This one is a Three word poem. She really liked this style of writing.

School Days

I love being invited to spend the afternoon
at school with Jolene and her friends.
They talk and giggle more then they eat!!
It was a beautiful Fall day to be outside
playing tag and just "hanging out."

After recess, it's math time.
Lots of counting, adding, sorting and learning.
One of the math centers was sorting and counting
beans at least to 100, so much to do in so
little time.

I enjoyed my day going back to first grade.

Hair cuts

Both of the girls have been wanting a new
hair style for school. Raychel just wants lots of
layers in the front so she could wear her hair
down more often without all the mess of tangles!!
Jolene decided she needed a "1st graders hair cut"
I am so glad she knew what it was because I didn't!!
I think they both look great, they are ready for school to start,
at least their hair is ready!!
