~Hiding~

These little piggies are lots of work, keeping them clean, keeping their cage clean, fresh cold water, fresh veggies and fruit, along with their regular piggy food, but when they play and make the funniest noises it makes it all worthwhile. The girls were cleaning the cage and the piggies hadn't been outside in several days, so they decided to hide.

~Reading~

Today was a lazy Saturday, something we don't have very often around here. Raychel found the perfect way to enjoy the morning, reading cuddled up on the couch. I was a little jealous she got the idea before me.

~Girls on the Run pre-run~

Today after school was the pre-run for Girls on the Run. The girls at Jolene's school have worked hard and preparing for the 5k. The coaches had a route all set up for the girls to run after school. I wanted to run with her but I had extra kids for the evening so we set ourselves up in the middle of the route to cheer them on. I was so proud of Jolene she did so well, she tired so hard. Her last lap, she was so exhausted she started to cry. It was the warmest day of the week and it took a lot out of the kids. She got some water and kept going. I was so overwhelmed with pride for her, she does her best and doesn't give up until it's done, and that is what she did. Hot, tired, headache, not feeling well she kept going and she finished the race.

~Sunday Photo~

We went shopping with some friends looking for a prom dress and a graduations dress for her daughters and ended up finding a great dress for Raychel as well. Raychel is growing up so fast. She loves to dress up, but we have had a hard time finding modest age appropriate dresses, so when we found this one, we jumped on it!! I am so proud that she cares what she looks like, she cares that she is dressed appropriately and is having fun growing up and trying new styles that work with what she believes in a what she stand for.

~Cake~

Who doesn't love cake!? We love cake.
The girls loved making it almost as much as eating it. We tried a new recipe for the cake and the frosting. When it was done the girls called it the tye dye cake.
YUMMY!!

~Band Compitition~

What a great opportunity for the middle school band. They traveled over an hour on the bus to play and be critiqued by several different judges. They played really well, but were given advice on how to be better and how to increase their music talents. Raychel and her friends seemed to have a good experience playing for judges, getting over being nervous the bus ride and hanging out at the food court in the mall for dinner before heading home.

~Sunday Photo~

I know it says "photo" but there will be more then one this time. Raychel was sick on Easter and wasn't able to attend church and wear her Easter dress. Today she was beautiful in her new dress I made her, and so happy to wear it. It was a harder dress then I thought it would be to make, only because the neckline was so much wider then her narrow build. It turned out so beautifully, she made the dress even better with her bright personality!
After church we all laid around and watched a movie, played games, wrote letters on the computers, and just enjoyed being a family.

Very lazy kitty

~Easter~

Happy Easter!!

The only thing that could have made this day any better would have been that Raychel didn't have strep. She has been sick for several days which didn't allow her to attend church and wear her beautiful new dress. Jolene looked so beautiful in her new dress I also made. She loved it!!

After church we had a little Easter Egg hunt in the back yard. It was a beautiful day, the neighbor's fruit tree was in full bloom which only brought lots of butterflies. The flowers smelt so amazing! Once the Easter egg hunt was over we went inside to finish dinner and watch one of Jolene's favorite movies from the Easter bunny, Hop. After we watched the movie we colored eggs, finished the bunny cake then Jolene built a fort with the stools and watched Hop again until dinner was ready.

I love Easter and all the traditions we have as a family, the Spring flowers are starting to bloom, the grass is turning green, the new dresses. The whole meaning of Spring, a new beginning. Knowing that the true meaning of today is all about our Savior. The resurrection is one of the most amazing gifts we have been given, I am so grateful for Christ and his sacrifice for us.

~Camping Spring Break~

What a sad day, the day we head home.
Jolene and Drake continued to have fun in the snow while we started getting things packed up. It doesn't matter how many times we come the girls still love to play in the carts while we are loading everything up. I love to listen to them work together, argue their ideas out, and then eventually work together to get the job done. Even though we came pretty early in the season this year, and were the only people around, we had a wonderful time. We were able to regroup and become renewed as a family. I think we can now return to reality and face what lies ahead for the next month until school is out.
