~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

~Park Day~

It has been another great Saturday! Have you ever had a day you never wanted to end??? Well, I have lots of them and today was no different. Ward and I went out to lunch for our Saturday date. I love this tradition we stared a few months ago. Most couples go out on Friday nights, but Ward gets home from work so late, and the girls miss him as much as I do from the long week. We spend Friday night as a family then on Saturday we usually go out of a late lunch, or an early dinner and do any local errands we may have. It is always nice having our family time and getting our one on one time as well! This particular Saturday we went and got Raychel a softball bat. She has been wanting to play softball on a team for several months so I signed her up for softball and Jolene wanted to play soccer again. When we got home from our date we got the girls and headed to the park to play!! Ward and Raychel played catch while Jolene and I ran around kicking the soccer ball to each other. Then Ward was the pitcher, Jolene an outfielder and I was the catcher while Raychel learned how to hit the ball. She did really well!! It will be fun to watch her learn, play and experience the game!!! She can't wait!!!

~Sunday Photo~

Jolene did great Spring day out of play dough today after church. I think this was her way of telling us she is missing Spring. I am right there with her. We miss our green grass, green leaves on the trees and of course our colorful flower gardens. Soon.......I hope.

~Winter Adventure~

What a really great Saturday!!!
We slept in, had a big nice breakfast then took off on an adventure! We headed up to The Falls at the other end of town. We have had 10 winters here and have never gone up to The Falls in the winter. I have seen pictures of them all frozen and thought it would be fun to see them for ourselves. Just before we got to the falls we had to stop to let about 12 wild turkeys cross the road. What a cool sight! Then off to the falls! They weren't completely frozen but they were still beautiful! We walked around, got some great pictures and let Drake play in the water. After we finished walking around the falls we drove further up the mountain. As we were coming around a corner, another truck was coming toward us pretty fast and not moving over, so Ward moved over to the right of what we thought was the road, it ended up being a ditch. We were stuck!! Lucky for us the man stopped along with his friends in their trucks. It took just over an hour to get us out of the ditch. Just as we went off the road it started to rain. It rained hard the whole time they were helping us. The girls and I sat there talking and laughing at silly jokes when it hit me.....This needs to go on the blog. My door wouldn't open because of how deep the snow was so we rolled the window down to get some pictures of our great Winter Adventure!! When we go home we had some hot chocolate, and watched a movie to end our day. What great memories were captured today!

Notice the ice climber?
There were 4 people helping each other climb the ice.

~Valentine's Flowers~

Ward came home from work with these beautiful flowers for me and little gifts for the girls as well. It is always to sweet to receive gifts from the one I love. I love that he remembers every year how much I love yellow roses, and not chocolate. The girls are always excited to think they too are daddy's little Valentine's!!!

~Valentine's Day Fun~

What a really great day, not only because it is Valentine's Day but because my parents were still in town from Jolene's baptism. Both of the girls had the same lunch time so we were able to take them both out of school to go to lunch with my parents. Jolene and Pop Pop wanted chicken so off we went to KFC. It was fun visiting, eating and laughing for the time we had together. After we took them back to school we had some time before we went in to help with Jolene's Valentine's Day party. It was fun to have my parents there with us. They were able to meet Jolene's teacher and several of her friends. It was fun watching my dad tease the girls that sat by Jolene, and help with the cookies.
What a great memory that was made today.
It is sad to think they are leaving tomorrow. It was great having them at one of my kids school parties, having them here to see Raychel dance on pointe shoes, see Jolene at gymnastics, go to Aspen to see Ward's job and all he is up to for our family.
