~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

Sunday Photo

What a great day.
We attended church, came home
had lunch, lounged around, watched a family movie
then Jolene challenged me to a game of Sorry.
She is very competitive!!
While I was getting things cleaned up she was
setting up the game, little did I know she had
stacked the deck!
She was able to get all the good cards right away!!
Needless to say, cheaters never win!!

Happy Halloween 2010

It seems different to have Halloween on a Sunday.
We made our Carmel apple pie, still played games,
and still went trick or treating. Except this
year I made my crust from scratch! I can't tell you how
excited I was to have it turn out. It looked so
beautiful, but like I told Ward, "looks aren't
everything, how will it taste". For years all I
have heard is how hard it is to make
your own crust and have it turn out!! It tasted
so yummy!! I was very proud of myself!
After dinner, the girls dressed up, Raychel changed
costumes so she could be warmer, and Jolene layered up. It was
a really nice night. There were so many families
out and of course kids were running everywhere.
I know it was Sunday, but we have some very special
neighbors who had very special goodie bags for the girls.
We made our visits, enjoyed visiting with several friends who
stopped by, hung out with the neighbors and completely
enjoyed the fall night.

Trunk~or~Treat

This year the girls decided they wanted to go to the
churches annual trunk~or~treat party. They had lots of
fun seeing their friends all dresses up, playing a few games
and of course the trunk~or~treating.

Hard~Fun work

The pumpkins turned out
Amazing!!!!

Raychel's pumpkin

Jolene's pumpkin

Pumkin Fun

These are the second set of pumpkins we had
to purchase this year. The first one were
PERFECT!
The girls spend precious time
looking,
feeling,
picking up
and deciding if the carving idea would work on the one
the wanted. After carefully consideration they picked
the cutest,
roundest,
fattest,
biggest ones they could find!!
The girls carefully placed the pumpkins on the
front porch to be worked on the next day, only to
discover they had been stolen during the night.
So off we went to find the
next perfect set of pumpkins
to be carved.

Bee~utiful party

I know it may sound crazy but at Halloween I become
very grateful.
I am so grateful I have a hard working husband
with an amazing job so I can attend class parties and enjoy my
kids,
their friends
and their teachers!
To be able to sit and visit,
help the kids with their costumes,
serve up the goodies,
and of course take pictures!

Sunset~

The girls had been outside playing when Raychel came
running in grabbing the camera and back out she went.
This is what she captured.
The two of us have an
addiction to sunsets!!

Weather~

Today I think Fall left for the day and winter was introduced.
It was so cold this morning!
The rain, wind and thunder were AMAZING this morning.
As the day went on the storm calmed down.
By the time I was done subbing, picking up
the girls and hanging out at a friends house
the night sky was breath taking as we drove home!!

Sunday Photo~Mission Bound

Mission Bound!!
Tonight we went to Sterling's to attend an open house
for our nephew who is heading to the MTC (Mission Training Center).
before leaves on his mission. Austin will be serving 2 years for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
in the Argentina Neuquen Mission.
He is our third nephew to leave for his mission this year.
As I sat watching all the friends come through their home to wish
him well and shake his hand, I thought this is only a few of the people
who have been touch by him. So many are waiting just for
Elder Austin Page to come into their lives and bring them
the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

A Day Away

What a great weekend!!
Friday after school I took the girls to their cousins for the night!
They were so excited to get to spend the night with their cousins.
We met up with Ward to say good byes then we got to go on a DATE!!
It was so nice to be alone with Ward.
After dinner we headed home to finish getting ready for
my elk hunt in the morning. Yep, you read that right, my hunt!
I went about 8 years ago and figured it was time to go again.
We got up VERY early to load up and drive to the ranch.
It as a cold, rainy, windy, fall morning. We were expecting some
snow and luckily found none!!
We checked in at the ranch and
headed off to sit, watch and wait for the elk to appear.
The only thing that appeared was fog and lots of it!! It really was
a beautiful sight to watch the fog roll in. We sat in a cloud for a couple of
hours then did some walking but he fog was so thick we were unable
to see anything but each other!! Which isn't a bad view!!
We walked around some then headed back to the truck for a snack
and to regroup. While we were having our snacks Ward started up the
truck and the horses that were off in the distance came RUNNING over
to check us out!! They must of thought we were there to feed them because they
started bumping the truck and trying to go through the things in the back.
We ended up driving around the ranch scouting for elk and saw some really
beautiful country side. It was so peaceful to be out there in nature, to
visit, laugh, talk and enjoy each others company.

The rainbow was almost reachable when we picked up the girls.
So bright and beautiful!!
