~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

 Happy Halloween!!
What a perfect day to have Halloween.  The girls looked great in their costumes.  They worked hard on their cute little tutus.  The weather was perfect.  They had so much fun going door to door and visiting with friends as we went along.  With the weather being so mild the streets were busy with so many families out along with the cars that were driving around dropping off and picking up kids.  Halloween isn't my favorite holiday, but the excitement from the girls makes it better.

~Halloween Concert

Tonight the 4th graders had their Halloween Music Program.  The kids did great.  Each 4th grade class had a costume to wear that went along with the songs their class was to preform.  They all worked hard and it paid off.  Jolene volunteered for a speaking part and did great!  She is really growing this year.  It was nice to see all the kids having fun while they were preforming.

~Halloween Band Concert

I couldn't help taking a picture of the sunset as we headed out to the Halloween Band Concert.  Raychel looked great in her Halloween Costume for the concert.  She was a witch with an edge.  We made her colorful tutu along with her hat.  She didn't want to wear the big witch hat, so we made her a cute little headband hat.  Then we added washable purple hair color to finish the costume.  She got so many compliments and had a great time.

Love her smile

~Headed Home

The morning after the Ballet we had breakfast at Denny's. We ordered our own meals, which were huge, and ended up eating off each others plates sampling everything and still didn't eat it all.  What a great way to start the day.  We then headed to Cabela's which was the biggest store ever!  We all enjoyed looking around at not only all they sold but all the amazing animal mounts.  The drive home was beautiful through the mountains with an breath taking sunset.

I know the first picture isn't the greatest, I have decided I need to put more pictures of me on the blog.  Some day the girls will look through the blog and wonder why there are no pictures of mom.

~The Big City

What an amazing weekend away!  We have needed this in so many ways.  Life has gotten so busy, we try to  have our own time away from the craziness of life but it doesn't always work.  I saw online there the Sleeping Beauty Ballet was coming close.  I called Ward thinking he would say no, but he said YES. The girls and I were so excited. We left Saturday morning early, took our own time driving down, checking out the city and going to dinner.  We had so much fun laughing, and just reconnecting. The city was great.  The girls were amazed at all the huge buildings, the architecture, the parks, the restaurants, and all the people.

~Sleeping Beauty Ballet

The Ballet was better then we ever could have thought.  The sight and sounds of the theater end of town was crazy.  So many people going to so many different shows. It was so busy and exciting.  The night was perfect, we went to dinner before the ballet, got there early to people watch, get our sits and wait.  The girls were so excited they could hardly sit still while we waited.  There was a live orchestra in front of the stage that was fun to watch.  Raychel was impressed watching the flute players warm up, the curtains opened and the dances were beautiful.  The costumes were so colorful, and professional. and The dancers were all so graceful, elegant and entertaining. As the curtains started to raise Raychel grabbed my hand squeezed it tight saying over and over, "It's starting, it's starting!!!"
It was a night well spent!
After the ballet we stopped and picked up snacks headed back to the hotel to
eat, recap the night, laugh, and sleep.

~Little Friends

We got spoiled and were able to have our little friends over for the night.  They are so much fun.  Jolene was in heaven having them here.  She is so good with them, she plays with them, makes them laugh, feeds them, holds them, loves them and even wants to try to change diapers.  She is such a wonderful helper.  She loves them as much as they love her.

~Garden Ends

Now that we are into October it is time to dig up the end of the garden.  It is a bitter sweet day to me, I love going to the garden all summer long to get our fresh produce, adding it to our families dinner.  The pride of growing our own food.  I love all that it takes to make the garden a success.  As we dig everything up and wash the veggies off I am already thinking of what we can do in the Spring to make the garden bigger and better.
