~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

Fishing

Monday April 28, all four of the 3rd grade classes went fishing at Lyons Pond.
It was so much fun!! Ward took the day off in hopes to be there when Raychel caught her first fish! Little did we know Jolene, Raychel and I would all catch our first fish on that school trip.

We saw lots of wild life, geese, frogs, snakes and even owls in their nest!! It was a great day for everyone!!

Snack Time

Jolene
wanted to make a favorite recipe from our friend Ginger for snack, we have made it so many times she could do it herself!!

It's so yummy!!!
Ginger's Cereal Mix
2 1/2 cups Rice Chex
2 1/2 cups honey nut cheerios
1 1/2 cups oatmeal squares
1/2 cups butter, melted
1/3 cups brown sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1/3 cups honey
Mix cereal together. Melt all together butter, sugar, honey, cinnamon and pour over the cereal and mix well.
Put on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 275 for 45 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
Add dried cranberries when cooled.

What's for lunch?

Here is the conversation I had with Jolene Thursday after I picked her up from preschool.

Jolene: Can we have lunch at the Chinese restaurant?
Mom: No, not today.
Jolene: Can we go some place else? I really want to eat out today.
Mom: Like where? Why do you want to eat out today.
Jolene: I just wanted to give the food at home a break.

I gave in!! She had a nice little lunch and we gave the food at home a break.

School Picture Day

On Wednesday April 16, was Raychel's school

Wind!!

The weather man said it would be windy......

But did the shingles off the roof have to end up in the our backyard, in the neighbors backyard, on top of the patio cover and in the street? I guess you already know what my poor husband will be doing on Saturday?

Raychel

Here are a few fun pictures of Raychel.
She looked so pretty today.

Jolene + Cami = horse

Monday it was beautiful.
Jolene and I went on a nice walk, came home and weeded out
the flower beds, and while I washed off the back patio Jolene
pretended Cami was her horse and led her around the backyard then
put her away in her "stable."

Jolene had fun playing in bucket of water making
footprints on the patio.

As much fun as this day was, the weather man said it wont last long!!

The Masters

Okay, as the Masters started on Thursday I was informed that the Masters is the Superbowl of Golf!! We tuned in for the updates Thursday and Friday evenings. Ward spent the day with us on Saturday, (which we appreciated) and then we all (kind of) watched the final day of the tournament Sunday.

It was a great tournament, Tiger Woods made a great effort but fell short and taking second place. Personally it's nice to see someone else win once in a while.

Ward and Raychel cleaned their clubs, cleaned out their bags and turned the tv room into
a putting green.

The girls hung out in the basement together watching their movie, playing doll house, pet shops and working on crafts in between coming up and asking "Who's winning?" I think it makes Ward proud that his girls are interested his favorite hobby, golf.

Family Day

I really love Saturdays!! It is the only day of the
week we are all together with out work, school and
church meetings. This last Saturday we went out
of town to do a few errands. First thing in the morning
Ward and I did the Health Fair over at the hospital.

It's a great inexpensive way to get some great blood
work done!! Ward went golfing while I got the girls
ready, then we picked him up a the course to start
our family time. As we were driving around we found
these great animals. The girls loved them!! We did
our errands, had a nice late lunch, visiting and catching
up on every ones life. We have some of the best talks
driving around in the van with the girls. They have
some great, and crazy ideas we love to hear.

School Pajama Party

Friday for school it was Pajama day then later
that night there was a pajama party at school to
raise money for the American Cancer Society.
There would be games, dancing, music, movies,
face painting, snacks and lots of teachers around.
Raychel wore her pajama's to school and Jolene had
a play date and was asked to wear her pajama's too.
Jolene thought that was the best play date idea ever!!
She had a great day with her good friend Jordan.
That night the girls and two great friends went to
the school for the party. That meant mom and dad
got to have a date. Jolene found that very funny
that mom and dad were going on a date.

"That's something you do to get married". (Which I understood as we need to do this more)
While the girls went and had fun, I met Ward for dinner about 20 minutes from here. Ward talked me into ordering the swordfish. I love Salmon and he thought I would enjoy this as well, I gave in and ordered it. Lets just say HE enjoyed the swordfish!! I am a huge food texture person and the swordfish had an interesting texture to say the least!! My salad was great!! It was nice to have dinner out without needing to go to the bathroom at least once before dinner was brought to the table and of course it never failed as it was delivered hot to the table!! We could actually talk without being interrupted, we could have grown up conversation!! Don't get me wrong I love our girls and they go everywhere with us. But one night off for a few hours was nice. I will admit I was nervous about leaving Jolene for so long at the school, but as Ward pointed out she was with Raychel and two great friends, and in the fall she would be there for school, she needed this time as much as I did. It all worked out we had a nice time, and the girls came home happy and tired!!
