~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

~Relay For Life 2010~

My neighbor does Relay For Life every year. I tired to get a team together at church but it didn't work out. I have always wanted to do this I have many people in my life who have fight and won and fought and lost the battle with cancer. I was honored when I was asked to be on her team! The girls and I were so excited. We headed down to the stadium, set up our tent, chairs, brought our food to contribute and waited for the night to begin. The whole night was amazing! To see so many people there, so many on the track walking, so many visiting, so many helping, so much going on to raise money to help with the fight against cancer. The girls had a great time too. We spend most of the day making dozens of cookies, wrapping them for the girls to sell. They loaded up the wagon and pulled it everywhere yelling cookies for sale and ended up selling most of them. They felt so proud that they had contributed to the cause. When we weren't walking we were playing games, eating, dancing, playing volleyball, or just hanging out. It was a chilly cloudy night which brought and amazing storm early in the morning. We watched it roll in knowing we were going to get hit hard. Sure enough just before the sun came up the sky opened and we poured on!! Many of us took cover in the bathroom until the worst of it pasted then we hurried and loaded up and headed home. Once we got in the house it started to rain and hail. Pour Jolene was beyond tired, she was asleep before she even laid down.

Jr. Golf Tournament

This is Jolene's first year taking golf lessons from someone
other then her dad, and her first year doing the Jr. golf
tournaments and she loved it!! She did really well for her
first time. They break the kids up by age groups, if they
want to do 3, 6, or 9 holes, then off they go. They take the best
ball out to of the groups which is nice, usually each kid
gets to have their ball used. Jolene's team won out of the
3 hole groups. She was pretty excited to be on the winning team,
not to mention they used her ball the most!!

Friends

We have the best neighborhood around because we
have the best neighbors. We met the Manera's a few days
after Ashley (their youngest) was born. Jodi invited us to story time and
every since then we have been friends. It has been
fun not only to have the girls friends but to
be great friends with the parents as well.
We have spentmany days with them,
shopping,
eating,
going to the park,
playing games,
walking,
running,
visiting,
laughing,
hunting,
or just
sitting on the front porch swing with a Popsicle.

Hot summer days

The best thing about labs is their love for the water. When we had our other dog,
Cammy, every time we would set the kids pool out she was the first on in!! So
this year we got smart, we bought Drake his own pool!! He LOVES it!! The
girls stand at the kennel and throw his toys in the pool and then watch laughing
as he jumps in to retrieve them. He loves it!! They played out there for several
minutes just laughing at how playful he is!
Maybe someday he will be able to play out of the kennel with the
girls, for now he is just a little "too" playful for them.

Fire Trucks

This year to raise money for the 4th of July fireworks
the fire station sent out some of its trucks to give rides and
get donation. What an adventure. It was pretty funny to see
so many firetrucks around town loaded with kids!! The
girls were so excited to be able to climb up and take a ride!

Golf

I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!!
Golf lessons mean only one thing.....
IT'S SUMMER!!!
Yep, that's right school got out last week and
golf lessons started today. Raychel has taken
them since she was 8 at the golf course and
this is Jolene's first year, but they both have
had lessons and played around with Ward
in the backyard or on the course when it's not
too busy since they could hold a club.
There is something so relaxing on
a summer morning when it's still cool,
outside with the blue sky,
freshly mowed grass that just
makes me happy!!

Best Friends

How much whip cream can you fit in your mouth?!
These two make me laugh, they entertain each other,
giggle uncontrollably, they have crazy ideas, and they
love to be together. They have been best friends for a couple
of years now and it only seems to get better.
