~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

A Day Off!

Last Monday (1-19-09) with the kids out of school,
we did nothing and loved it! First, Raychel
decided her room needed to be vacuumed!

then the girls could "go to the movies"
Notice the car TV on her bed! They love to do this
in one of their rooms, later you will see why it
wasn't in Jolene's room this time!
We have yet to have a day off of school
without a great craft!! Fabric painting on
denim notebook!!

And this is why the movie was in Raychel's room,
Jolene's room was the "Club" room!!

Raychel has been learning to cook and she loves
to make her own mac'n'cheese!!
She said, "Sorry mom, it taste
better when I make it"
Please, keep making it!!

Jolene loves her soup!!

We had a great day!!

"Twins"

I know at any given day it could all change, but
for now I am really enjoying the fact that
our girls are the very best of friends, so much
that some days they don't mind dressing alike.
They picked out the jeans, tops, earrings, and
hair styles first thing this morning.
Are you seeing double?

Hard days work

On Saturday January 10,
we worked hard! We cleaned out
rooms, closets, took down old
bookcases and dressers to the basement,
brought up new bookcases
(they turned out great! The girls picked the stain color themselves!)
organized them, hung the new selves in the girls' rooms,
and hung the new blinds!!
We even attended the primary activity in the morning
and Ward helped a friend with his car!
Then out to dinner at a new restaurant in town!
YUMMY!!Jolene's bookcase and new shelf, glass baby doll was a
gift from the neighbor, Sally, her mother made it over 40 years ago!Raychel's new bookcase and shelf she also got her glass baby doll from Sally.
We truly have great neighbors! My hard working hubby!! The girls thought
it was "cool' how dad can do these kinds
of things around the house, I have to agree!!
He's COOL!

A great day to be in Kindergarten

(sorry not the greatest quality of pictures,

used the cell phone!!)

Jolene didn't think it was fair that all the other

kids got to celebrate their birthdays at school and since

she had her birthday during Christmas break, we took

cupcakes to school today!!

Then the kids had learning labs.

I love helping out in the class during learning labs.

The kids get to go to different stations set up
around the room and do different hands
on activities that go along with the
"topic" of the day. Today it was
about weather. They got to paint
a weather picture....
put the pictures in order from the story they
had read earlier....
and be a weather person! She got super shy when the class
was watching her.

Kindergarten really is the BEST!!

Sunday Best

Both the girls got new dresses for
Jolene's birthday!!
Jolene is trying to show off her
new hair cut in this picture, she thinks
she wants it shorter in the back!!
A girl with her own mind!

"Look out mom I'm 6!"
that is what she said as she
hit this pose!!
I'm glad they are growing up,
but it's going soooo fast!

Happy 6th Birthday Jolene

Without realizing it I started a tradition
of getting a manicure on Jolene's
birthday. But then again what else is
there to do on New Year's Eve
for your birthday when most of
your friends are out of town?

Sydney's turn

Raychel's turn

Kianna's turn

The drying station

We had a great family party.
Pizza has also become her birthday
meal of choice, which makes her
daddy happy!!
Jolene opened lots of great
birthday gifts from family
near and far!She had been asking for new jeans,
I think she likes them.

And we can't forget the
birthday cake, rainbow this
year!
It's hard to believe our baby girl
is 6! She loves getting older. That morning
she came downstairs and asked
"Am I taller?" I said of "course you
are", she relpied, "well I am 6 you know!!"
How could I forget!

The great Ponyville that was added
to on Christmas and her birthday.
