~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

My Parents

This morning when I check my facebook my dad left
me a great message!! Then when I checked my email there was another letter from my dad! It really means so much to me because my parents are 1000 miles away, I wish my parents lived closer everyday, I would love to have them see my kids as often as they see my siblings kids, I would love for them to see my kids in their school activities, dance recitals, or just show up at school for lunch. I would love for them to know my kids better, don't get me wrong, our girls adore my parents the other day Jolene missed them so much when we called for her to talk with them she cried the whole time and was only able to listen, her emotions got the best of her. My mom leaves comments on the blog lots, once in awhile my dad does to, but lately he has been dropping email to let us know he's there. For some reason knowing they are there and checking my blog to see what our girls and we are up to makes me want to blog all the more!! I am truly grateful and love my parents very much!!

Thank you and the girls for the singing valentines card, it was great, but even better was the girls message. thank you all, I love you lots...... :)

All.....I want to thank all of you for your blogs, it is such a joy to get on them and read and see all that you do. It really does keep me updated with your lives and activities. I know that not all of you have blogs but I want to thank you for the pictures you send to keep us updated and to remind us of how fast all of our grandchildren are growing. Your mother and I are very proud of all of you and love you all more than you will ever know. Everyone is growing up so fast. Carey's boy are so grown up and responsible. There has been so many birthdays in the last few weeks I can't keep them all straight. Now Mike's oldest is ready to be baptized. Times flies by so very fast you don't dare blink, or you'll miss several years. Only a few weeks and Brandon and Katie will have a little one for everyone to spoil. Love you lots...Dad

A Birthday

On Tuesday when Jolene went to school she
learned the next time she went (Thursday 26) it
would be her teachers birthday! It made Jolene sad
because her teacher is single and her family
lives far away. So she asked if she
could give her teacher a party!!
So Wednesday, Jolene's day off, we
made cupcakes.
Jolene realized "happy birthday"
has as many letters
as there are kids in her class! So each kid
got a letter and the happy face at the end
was for her teacher to have "after dinner" Jolene picked her out a Dora balloon, because who
doesn't love Dora, and a pink flower plant.
When I brought the cupcakes to school at snack time,
Ms. Painton had to wipe a tear! Jolene made her sit at
the table, served her first and then had the
class sing "Happy Birthday"
They got to watch some of "Horton Hears A Who"

All in all I think she had a great party, if nothing
else Jolene succeeded in
giving her a nice surprise!

After the party it was outside fun time!!

Then inside for learning labs!

They are learning about their neighborhoods,
so they got to play beauty shop or barber shop.
Lots of fun!

Random pictures

This is our kitty, Ella, she was
trying to get the balloon string.
and just about did!
Jolene's favorite thing to do when she's not in
school is play school. She loves her leapster,
she has this one and then the hand held one.
It just amazing me all she can do!!

Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day Ward gave me a beautiful
bouquet of yellow roses, my favorite!! and the
perfect card for us.
We had a sitter stay with the girls and went
to dinner and the movies out of town, with
another couple. I had forgotten how nice it
is to double date. We had a wonderful time.
Great food, great company and great
entertainment.
and the girls had a great time at home, we picked
them up a pizza, ice cream and movies.
Everyone had a great Valentine's Day.

Hair Days

Just another Valentine hair idea, out
of the two this is her favorite.
Sooo much easier too. She is so beautiful!
One of my favorite Valentines!
Be Mine Teddy 1

Spaghetti Sauce Mix
1/2 teaspoons minced dried garlic
1 Tablespoon minced dried onion
1 Tablespoon dried parsley
1 Table spoon green pepper flakes
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
Mix together and store in a airtight container.
To serve: Add one cup tomato sauce, 1 1/2 cups water and one recipe sauce mix. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Makes 2 cups.
Even Raychel who usually eats just the noodles, had two servings with the sauce!! It's a hit!!

100 Days

On Tuesday Feb. 2nd Jolene's class
celebrated their 100th day of school.
She is pretty excited that she is now
100 days smarter!
They made a list of 100 things
they love...

they put 100 treats in a baggie for snack,
10 pieces of 10 items.
example...10 marshmallows, 10 gum drops... then they ate them and played outside...
who doesn't love being outside with the sun
shining, no wind and about 50 degrees in February!

then inside for learning labs.
