~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

~Yampa Valley Tournament

Another varsity golf tournament this morning. She was at the school ready to go by 6:30am!!  What an early morning which will make a long day! It has rained and been so cold, hopefully it warm up while she's playing.  She was so nervous and excited just like every other tournament.  We are so proud of her. She has worked hard and made some great improvements in her game this year.

~River Valley Ranch Tournament

This morning when she left it was looking like a pretty good day.  While they were warming up she said it was HOT,  was was in short sleeves and shorts.  By the time they headed out to tee off the weather changed; wind, rain, hail, snow, sleet, and even a little lightening, luckily it quit before they could call the game.  She was so cold in shorts, her coach caught up to her and asked her where her sweats were, she had left them in the bus since it was so warm when they started. Her coach is so nice he went to the bus and got them and brought them back to her.  She was so grateful, she said it was helpful but she was already so cold.  She couldn't wait to get home and take a very warm shower!

~Vernal Temple

What a perfect day!  It started out pretty rough at 3am waking up with a migraine. They seem to be coming more often again and lasting too long.  I finally got up at 5 to get Ward off to work, Raychel to the school to head out on another golf tournament then head to the church to meet up with the youth to go to Vernal Utah to attend the temple.  We ended up only taking one other girl, Jolene's friend Delany and another leader.  The girls had so much fun just the two of them and I enjoyed my visit with the other leader.  I have always admired her and her testimony, it was fun getting to know her better.  This was going to be Jolene's first time doing baptisms.  My dad sent family names for the girls to do, she was pretty nervous and excited!! We asked one of Jolene's friends to do the names Raychel was suppose to do, but she couldn't, do to the golf tournament.  She knew I was in pain and said we could cancel and go another time.  She is so sweet and willing to give me an out.  There was no way I was canceling this special day for us.  We had beautiful weather on the drive up and a little rain on the drive home, we even had a rather large sheep crossing we had to stop for.  Once we got in the temple and I saw my sweet daughter dressed in white ready to be baptized for her ancestors I knew I had made the right choice in making the trip, we were where we needed to be.

~Best Friends

Drake had a rough day and needed to go to the vet today for a some testing.  The last time I took a dog to the vet was when Cami died, it was a rough day for us both.  I was able to pick him up just before I picked up the girls so Drake got to go for a drive.  He was pretty sedated so he slept most the time.  Jolene and Drake have a special connection, so she was pretty upset and worried about him.  They spent most of the late afternoon on the patio together.  I think it helped both of them get over the day better.

~Spring Snow

What a great Spring snow, it snowed all day.  Ward and I went for a drive and I got some really great pictures.  It was a really nice family day.  Snow the end of the April isn't always fun but it makes us slow down and enjoy each other as we enjoy the day.  I'm grateful for this great snow fall which will help with how dry our winter was, I'm grateful it happened today, Saturday, so we could all be home together.

~Band Competition

Jolene and I followed the bus for their out of town band competitions.  Our school did really well!  I love how talented all these youth are.  I'm glad Raychel has a love for music and continues to learn and play beautiful songs as she continues developing her talent for music.  Afterwards Raychel and two of her friends came with me to the mall to get material to fix their prom dresses.  It was a cold, windy, raining, snowy day and it only continued throughout the whole day.

~Rifle Creek Tournament

A  great day for a golf tournament!  The weather was perfect unlike the weather last year with snow, rain and wind!! She was so excited to golf at home, I am even excited because I get to go watch!!  I love to see how much she is enjoying golfing!  After she get home from her tournaments it's all she talks about.  Her and Ward share stories about the different holes and he is a great teacher and coach helping her along the way.  It's great for them to have this together!

~Mormon Prom

We had several of Raychel's friends over to get ready for Mormon Prom, they had so much fun getting ready together.  We had lots of food and snacks for the girls to eat as they got ready.  It was fun watching them help each other with their make up, hair, jewelry and complimenting each other on their dresses and then we got some great pictures.  We added Austin to the photos when he came to pick up his sister.  Then we all loaded up with Ward and Jolene and drove to the dance.  We dropped the girls off at the dance and then we went and got a late dinner.  After dinner we went and hung out at the dance for the last hour watching them.  They all seemed to have a really good time.  After the dance we all went out for ice cream with a few more friends, we got home really late, but it was worth it!!

Grandma Pearl turns 90

What a fast weekend.  We left early Saturday morning to arrive in time to change clothes and go straight to the church to help celebrate Grandma Pearl's 90th birthday.  It was really nice to see everyone.  My parents drove down from Washington to be there for the celebration as well.  We visited and  caught up at the church for several hours then went to dinner with my parents. After dinner we headed to the hotel pool with my dad and they all played Marco Polo.  They girls had a great time with my dad.  They were very tired by the time they got into bed.  Sunday we woke up early and headed home, there was suppose to be a snow storm on the way home, but luckily we didn't get any snow on the drive.  It may have been a really fast weekend, but it was packed with memories and lots of fun.

~Beautiful

"Love should be the very heart of family life".  President Thomas S. Monson
Today was a beautiful Sunday, we were able to all be at church together as an eternal family.  I love being at church with my family. Being able to look down the row and see our children singing, taking the sacrament, listening to the speakers and gaining their own testimonies.  I am complete because of  the three of them.

~Autumn

Have you ever had one of those days where you felt love, peace, joy, and  was overflowing with happiness? That was my weekend.  We headed out on Friday when Ward got home from work.  The trailer was loaded so all we had to do was hook up the truck and away we went.  We arrived in the mountains late.  In the morning it was like Christmas, I couldn't wait to see all the Fall colors, the lake and enjoy our days away.  While the girls and I got ready for the day Ward took off with for a quick 2 hour motorcycle ride. He took his camera phone and took pictures he knew I would love.  When he returned we had lunch then we all headed up the mountain to see all the colors!  I was so excited!  I love this time a year and seeing part of the country we haven't seen before.  I was overwhelmed with peace as we drove.  I couldn't stop thinking this world was created for our pleasure.  It was created for us to enjoy and love.  To look around its hard not to feel the power of Heaven.  I felt so blessed to be with my little family, laughing, talking and spending this time without the world getting in the middle.  We got back into camp in time to start dinner and watch a powerful lightening storm come through.  We all sat out under the awning enjoying the storm.  When we went in to eat I was asked to say the blessing on the food,  I could hardly get through the prayer.  My emotions were so strong for the love I feel for my Heavenly Father and the beautiful life He has allowed me to live.  I have been watched over, comforted, blessed and guided to  this stage in my life and am so grateful for all I have.  This weekend was very fast, but it was amazing in memories!
