~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

~Halloween Band Concert

I couldn't help taking a picture of the sunset as we headed out to the Halloween Band Concert.  Raychel looked great in her Halloween Costume for the concert.  She was a witch with an edge.  We made her colorful tutu along with her hat.  She didn't want to wear the big witch hat, so we made her a cute little headband hat.  Then we added washable purple hair color to finish the costume.  She got so many compliments and had a great time.

Love her smile

~Spring Band Concer~

It seems we were just here writing about the Winter Band Concert and it's already time for the Spring Band Concert.  This school year has gone so fast.  The kids have grown so much in everything they have done.  It was fun to listen to the band concert tonight.  All the kids in Band performed tonight.  They played with their grade levels.  It was pretty neat to hear the growth over each year.  It was sad to think not to long ago I was listening to Raychel as a 5th grader and now it is the end of 7th grade.  So much as happen and so much is yet to happen.  It was a great concert.

Spring Band Concert

The last band concert has come which means the school year is almost over. Raychel has done really well playing her flute. It is fun watching her grow with this instrument, her self confidence has grown so much. She is thinking about auditioning to play her flute for the school talent show in a few weeks. It is fun to watch her grow and develop this talent.

~Band Concert~

Tonight was the Spring Band Concert 5-8th grade. They sounded so good together. After school Raychel was pretty nervous for the last number they were to play. It was new, they didn't have much time to learn it and it was to be performed as the final number with all grades combined. It turned out really well. It was nice to see all the kids on the stage at the same time playing together as one. They should be proud of themselves, I know we were.

~Winter Band Concert~

What a great way to end the 2010
school year, with a winter band concert.
It was nice to sit among friends and family as we
listened to our children play their instruments
and entertain us.
I love to hear Raychel play her flute.
I love the music she makes and the
feelings it creates in our home. She
has come so far since she started playing.
When she first started she would get so frustrated
with herself that she was perfect. Now she can
listen to music or pick up the hymn book
and play a hymn. It is fun to see her progress and
watch her self confidence grow.

5th Grade Band Showcase

5th Grade Band Showcase!!!

What a great evening. This was a night of just

5th graders showing their talents.

The group either performed

alone or in small groups. Raychel and her

2 friends performed

Frere jacques

Ming Court

and

This Old Man

They did a great job. She was a little

nervous because

"in a smaller group if I mess

up you will all know its me!"

They all did a wonderful job!

The last performance of the

evening was all the 5th graders doing

Sawmill Creek, by Bruce Pearson

Raychel taking her bow!
