~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

What a great hike!  This hike was about 1.5 miles.  We headed out with the
Manera's for the adventure.  The girls all loved it.  It really pushed Raychel
since  her knee surgery she hasn't been able to do much.  The weather was perfect,
it even rained on us some at the top.  The view was beautiful.  It is amazing to think
the wind, water and erosion has caused this natural arch.

A Day of Hiking

We had a great first day when my was sister here. We headed up to Glenwood Springs for lunch, drove through the canyon to see how magnificent it is. We walked around at the rest stop, watching the river and seeing all the damage from the flooding. The weather couldn't have been any better, it was beautiful. We headed back to Glenwood Springs to hike Potter's Field to see Doc. Holiday's grave. I love this hike, I love the view, the scenery, the peace and the history this hike represents. We walked around seeing all the dates, the different types of headstones, all the flowers, and answered many questions from the girls. One the way down it began to sprinkle, then the raindrops got bigger and we got wetter! We had so much fun. As we were coming down the hill, Jolene was holding my hand laughing and said, "Mom, we are making a memory!! " I love that girl. We had such a wonderful day all of us together, making a memory!

The great outdoors

On Friday Ward worked a half day, and then
was taken golfing by a friend, when he got home
the girls and I were ready to do something fun.
It was a beautiful cool evening so we went to KFC
got dinner and headed to the mountains.
It was so beautiful, because of all the rain and
humidity we have had lately everything was so green.
We went an an amazing hike, visited, took pictures,
laughed and really enjoyed our family.

The views were so peaceful

We did some exploring and Raychel ended up
trying to jump over a low barbwire and ended up
catching her foot and down she went on more barbwire
hiding in the weeds.
She wasn't very happy!!
But even though there was a mishap
we had a great time out as a family.
We came home, washed up and
watched a movie.
