~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

~Decorating The Tree~

I love this tradition, decorating the tree. It is always fun to get out the ornaments and visit the memories created from them. Last year the family allowed me to use white lights, and beautiful balls in wonderful warm colors and shapes. I loved the tree, but there seemed to be something missing, the family ornaments. This year as we were getting everything out, the girls asked if we could do it the old way. As we unwrapped all the old ornaments it was fun to see all the ones we have bought over the years just for the girls and talk about them together. Every year they get a new one, I try to find them one that goes along with what they have been into over the year. This year Raychel has been crazy for owls and Jolene loves squirrels. I think I went into every store and little shop and actually found them the perfect ornaments to represent their year. The owl and the squirrel.

~Decorating the tree~

I love getting out all the Christmas containers
going through them and remembering when we
got the items, where we got them, or who gave them to us,
and then putting them
and all the memories out with them!
I think it is one of my favorite days of the year!

We have so much fun decorating the tree together.
Raychel was a huge help setting up tree this year, it
is nice to have the extra help! We ended up setting
it up while Ward was out hunting, then we put the
lights up and decorated it for family home
evening! This year we changed it up, we
tired white lights and colored balls. I have wanted
to do balls for a few years now but wasn't sure
I was ready to leave all the cute little ornaments
behind. We pulled out some of the favorites to add
to the "new" look! I really like our new ornaments.
I am still in love with our tree. The girls asked how old
our tree was, it is 15 years old, and just as beautiful!
I love how big, tall and full it is!

Tree Decorating

The reason for the season
Our Dear Saviors Birth...

I love watching the girls decorate the tree

It is always a huge event!
Decorating the tree takes awhile as the
girls study each ornament and remember
it from the year before

They get so excited, even though the
decorations are as old as they are,

they usually give a helping hand and
decided together how the finished
tree should look

I love our tree topper, it a just a star
but "it is was the heavenly sign of
promise long ages ago, God promises a savior
for the world and the star was a sign of the
fulfillment of that promise.
The countless shining stars at
night....one for each man---
now show the burning hope of
all mankind." Unknown

And we can't forget the picture to
show off their great work.
