~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

Trimming the tree

Away in a manger,
No crib for His bed
The little Lord Jesus
Laid down His sweet head
There really is something magical
about having a Christmas tree
in the house.
romance.
spirit.
cheer.
festivity.
warmth.
Going through the ornaments with the girls
brought back so many memories.
When we first got married and bought our
first home my mom got us a key ornament.
When the girls were born they got their
"1st Christmas" ornament. And over the
years we buy them an ornament that
represents what they love or what they
were into the past year.

Always ballet.

Jolene LOVES piggies. Raychel LOVES horses.

Jolene collects Snow White dolls.
By the time Raychel was 2 she could quote Cinderella.
She collects Cinderella dolls.

Setting up the tree is only part of the fun.
And when all the lights are off
and there's nothing but the glow
from the tree--
that's worth waiting for all year long.
So many nights we sit in the
"Christmas" room,
it's quiet, peaceful and warm.
After the tree is done we celebrated our
hard work by eating scones!!

How lovely and what a wonderful feeling and time with family. That is my favorite part about setting up for Christmas.
