~My Reason For Our Blog~
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." — Gordon B. Hinckley

Great Grand Neice

My nephew Christopher and his wife Amanda had a
sweet little girl on January 24.  Her name is
Lilly Louise, Weighing 7 lb 9 oz. 20 in long.
What a wonderful reason to make a quilt!
I love to sew and make new things.  When the
girls and I found this material I had to buy it not knowing
for who. I only wish we all lived closer so I could
snuggle her in her new blanket.

~Care Bears

We got these pillow cut outs from Great Grandma Pearl
a few years ago. On our Friday off the girls wanted to
sew them.  They were pretty hard because of  the
round edges.  Who knew suffing pillows could be
so much fun.

~New Dress~

We went into every store that sold dresses looking for a beautiful, modest, age appropriate dress for her to wear to church and for Easter.  We came up empty. We even looked on line for dresses, but it was hard to tell how long they were and very few had sleeves.  Raychel did find one, but it was over $200.  It was a simple looking pattern, I got this crazy idea I could make her a dress.  We headed to the fabric store with the goal not to leave without a pattern and material to create a beautiful dress.  We had success!!  Little did I know that would be the easy part!  The dress wasn't too bad, pretty basic except for the neck line.  It is pretty wide and I wasn't sure how to fix it.  I had a couple of friends help me who had lots more experience them I do.  It turned out perfect, and the best part is, she loves it!! She looks so beautiful in it.  The colors are perfect for her.  Now to find the perfect shoes!!!

~Crafts~

Today is not only April Fools Day, but it is also the last Friday of Spring Break. We have had so much fun this week. We have done crafts, sewed, baked, cooked, played games, went to the library, watched movies and had friends over and went to friends. I have loved every day with our girls. I love hearing their stories, having them retell me what they are reading, seeing how creative they are and hearing their laughter. Having them home for the week makes us all excited for Summer vacation. So much to do! We made lots of really cute hair clips and even clips for their clothes, bags or jackets. The are called yo-yos. They were so easy! The girls had so much fun picking out the materials they wanted and then hand sewing them. They got to be pretty quick and were making them while we watched movies. Another great Spring Break!
